Solid choice for the price point

I only looked for a new hybrid because my all-time favorite bike, a Raleigh 3T was stolen from my garage last August. Having bought my XDS Cross 300 last fall and living in northern Minnesota, I have been putting it to the test on our local paved trails only recently, logging just over 35 miles so far. But first things first: unboxing and set up: XDS does a fantastic job packing the bike securely; it was efficiently arranged to make set up quite hassle free, despite directions, based on some glaring spelling and syntactic errors, clearly not written by a native English speaker. However, using a little common sense, I was able to have a ride-ready bike in about twenty minutes. The components (brakes, shifter, and derailleur) are mid-level Shimano and have performed as designed so far. The shifters utilize a thumb and finger trigger mechanism, easy and accurate to use. The front shocks are probably unnecessary but do soften the bumps and divots. I switched out the seat with one a bit less firm and also added a 70mm (max) fork stem extender to raise the handle bars for a bit more comfort. So far, the bike has been more than I expected, and I am beginning to miss my Raleigh less with each ride. For the money, I feel it is a solid choice for the rider who wants to get in shape by pedaling paving trails in modest comfort, but--don't get me wrong--this bike will happily respond when pushed with as much athleticism as a middle-aged fella (or gal) can dish out!

Great Value!

I ordered this bike to have something to cruise around the neighborhood and was surprised to get so much more. This bike is great, high quality, and more than what I needed.
